Some comments on comments re the immigration poplicy

“The president needs to make decisions based on what is best for the country, not what is best for his campaign.” – Rep. Ben Quayle,R-Ariz

And he did.

“this was an outrageous announcement … that intends to grant back-door amnesty. It doesn’t take cynic(sic) to recognize this action for what it is, blatant political pandering.” – Gov. Jan Brewer, AZ

Spoken by a true political panderer.

“Obama, his Cabinet, and his czars have shown from day one they believe they are above the law. They are not. The president cannot decree what laws will be enforced and what will be ignored.” US. Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Arizona

Want to bet?

“(it’s) an election-year back-door amnesty plan.” US. Rep. David Schweikert, R-Arizona

There is no amnesty plan, just a plan to help young people.

This is  a precursor to amnesty. Something must be done but don’t do it now for the Latino vote and before the Supreme Court decision.” Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Nice to hear the sheriff say something must be done (just not in his lifetime).

“I find it interesting that after promising to enact comprehensive reform in the first year of his presidency, the president chose to make the announcement in the middle of his heated re-election campaign.”  U.S. Sen. John McCain

If the Congress had not fought him tooth and nail, something could have been done sooner. And this comes from a person who supported immigration reform until Mr. Obama was elected president.

and,

“The administration’s decision … is long overdue … I hope today’s announcement serves as a building block toward the day when we finally put the politics aside, solve the problem and reform a broken immigration system.” Richard Carmona, Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, AZ.

Well said.
